Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins | Including Q&A with Director Janice Engel and Anne Seifert '65

  • Laemmle West LA, 11523 Santa Monica Blvd 1st floor, Los Angeles, CA 90025 (map)

Celebrate the life and legacy of Smithie, Texan and legendary political columnist Molly Ivins ‘66 when "Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins” opens in LA next weekend!

The film tells the story of how Molly used her razor sharp wit to skewer the powerful, protect the helpless and shine a light on bad government. She was a fearless reporter who stopped at nothing, not even death threats, to speak truth to power. “Raise Hell” brings Molly’s humor and political wisdom back to life — and shows how it still strikes a chord in today’s political climate.

Join LA area Smithies at the 5:20pm showing of “Raise Hell” next Saturday. Immediately following the film, there will be a Q&A with director Janice Engel and Molly’s Smith College friend Anne Seifert ‘65. The discussion will be moderated by SCCLA President Kristin Matthews ‘91.
