Faculty Speaker: Professor Daniel Horowitz

We are pleased to have Daniel Horowitz, Smith College Mary Huggins Gamble Foundation Chair and Professor of American Studies Emeritus, joining us to speak about his new book, Happier? The History of a Cultural Movement That Aspired to Transform America. Copies of Happier? will be available for pre-order when you RSVP.

Professor Horowitz will discuss the history of positive psychology, happiness research and the ways these fields have influenced the lives of millions of people around the world. He will also trace the distinctly American story of the shift in focus from mental illness to happiness, as well as many other topics related to the role of happiness in our culture.

Space is very limited. If registration is full, there will be a wait-list. In that case, please email RSVP@SmithClubLA.org with your name, preferred email address and phone number to be added to the wait-list. If your plans change, please notify RSVP@SmithClubLA.org so that we may offer your spot to another Smithie who is on the wait list.
