Smith College Logo

The Smith College Club of Los Angeles is a large, active club, that proudly hosts a panoply of events designed to cater to its members' diverse interests and intellectual curiosity.

Alumnae Admissions & Recruiting

The Club is very active in recruiting. Eighty-four students from our area are currently at Smith. Approximately 60 alumnae assisted with college fairs, visits to high schools, interviews, book award presentations, hosting parties for prospective students, and other activities to support admissions efforts.

Fostering Alumnae Connections

The Club sponsors a variety of social, cultural and educational programs, including visits and lectures by faculty and staff from the College. The programs are informative, educational, and fun! They provide unique opportunities to develop and maintain lifetime connections with intelligent, interesting women of diverse ages and backgrounds. Additional activities include a book group, young alumnae group, and small informal social events.

Endowed Scholarship Fund

The SCCLA Endowed Scholarship Fund, established and supported by area alumnae, provides scholarships to students from the LA area each year. Donations to the college from SCCLA have averaged $5,000 annually for the past several years. The annual Theatre Tickets Series and periodic benefits provide a major portion of this endowment fund. Additional funds come through membership fees, directory advertising, and contributions.
